Mimetic Solutions is currently developing and validating a number of core applications based on Affinimer chemistry. Current product focus includes two primary delivery systems: TheraSmart™ and BeautySmart™:

TheraSmart™ – Capsules for Analyte Responsive Delivery (ARD) of Therapeutic agents, based upon precise concentration of a biomarker. The Affinimer chemistry is used to generate single or multi-pulse capsules that ‘monitor’ the body’s environment for specific conditions, such as presence of a biomarker, elevated levels of a blood analyte, change in pH, etc. On cue, the TheraSmart capsules release a therapeutic payload in a predetermined way.

Multiple formulations are possible within a single TheraSmart capsule, enabling pulsatile or coordinated drug release from a single dosage. Rather than requiring that a drug be taken several times a day, a single pill can release the drug each time its corresponding biomarker reaches a threshold level in the bloodstream.

Furthermore, multiple trigger chemistries can be engineered into the formulation, allowing for a coordinated, multi-analyte triggered release of two related drugs.

BeautySmart™ – Capsules and films for triggered release of fragrance, essential oils, vitamins or anti-aging compounds. The BodySmart system can be engineered to respond to specific body cues and actuate release of the desired compound.
